EPGP Info Guide

The Basics:

Our guild uses an EPGP based loot system to distribute loot in our progression raid teams. Before I get into the actual amounts for EPGP awards, let me first explain what EPGP even is.

EPGP is based on the concept of Effort Points and Gear Points. Effort Points quantify the effort each member put towards the (common) guild goals and Gear Points quantify what each member got back in return. Loot priority is computed as the quotient of the two; priority (PR) is equal to EP/GP.

EP is earned through:

Donations.
On-time raid attendance.
Current tier boss kills.
Participation in Guild Events.

Whereas GP is earned by:

Receiving loot in raid.

Addons:

EPGP Lootmaster – Allows you to select Main Spec, Minor Upgrade, Off-Spec and Pass on all loot drops and assists the raid’s Lootmaster with the proper distribution of gear.

EPGP (DKP Reloaded) – Gives a table showing everyone’s EP, GP and PR standing within the guild.

EP Awards:

Weekly donations are always to be mailed to Mawks, who will handle granting the 2000 EP donation credit, if the donation amount for credit is met. For a guide to what items are worth what, check out the guide here.

Guild sponsored activities outside of normal raids, are worth 1000 or 2000 EP. This is determined by number of guild participants as well as the event itself.

These activities will replace the award for donation credit allowing member to either get 2000 EP for donating OR for guild participation, not both.
This credit needs to go through Mawks in order to prevent overlaps of activity and donation credit.

An on time bonus of 2000 EP is awarded on raid nights to those who are online and ready to go at the official start of raid.

Each week the healers and tanks are each awarded an extra 500 EP.

Current tier raid bosses are worth 2000 EP per kill.

At the end of raid the Raid Leader will take votes from the raid team to see who the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the night is and award them an extra 2000 EP.

50% of all raid credit is awarded to Raiders who have been asked by an Officer to be on Standby. They must be online as a standby, to fill in for the loss of a raid member, for the full duration of raid time.

Individual can be on alternate characters as long as they online and able to join if/when they are needed.

Decay:

Each week there is a 10% decay done to everyone’s EP and GP, handled by Tak on Sunday night after the last raid or Tuesday morning after the reset.

At the end of each patch there is a 75% decay done to everyone’s EP and GP.

At the end of each expansion there is a 100% decay done to everyone’s EP and GP.

Priority Rating:

The way the EPGP addon calculates your PR or Priority rating is by dividing your EP (effort points) by your GP (gear points).

Your PR (Priority) will determine if you win over others who are rolling on the same piece of raid loot.

Loot distribution:

Main Spec – Full GP Charge

Minor Upgrade – 1/2 normal GP Charge

Must be within 5 item levels of the base (non-upgraded) item.

Off Spec – No GP Charged

Guild Bank – If a loot item is not needed for anyone in the raid’s Main Spec or Off Spec it is to either to be DE’d (disenchanted) and materials placed in the GB if there is an Enchanter present or it is to be sold to a vendor and the gold placed in the GB.
